An after dinner cocktail in honor of the swedish tradition "kaffe och avec" (coffee and spirit). A cocktail that mix coffee with swedish punsch liqueur and cognac. The swedish punsch liqueur brings a light and sweet taste of arrack that matches the coffee in Mr Black brilliantly. Adding a bit of cognac to get a little extra punch to the punsch.



 25 ml Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 25 ml Cognac
 25 ml Swedish punsch liqueur
 5 ml Demerara syrup
 1 whole egg (40-50 ml)
 2 dashes Chocolate bitters
 Sea salt flakes



Combine all ingredients except salt and nutmeg into a shaker and dry shake.


Add ice to the shaker and wet shake.


Serve in a chilled Nick & Nora glass.


Sprinkle a pinch of crushed sea salt flakes over the cocktail and grate a bit of nutmeg on top.

    Thanks! Swedish punsch (or just punsch) is a liqueur based on arrak. Usually around 25 ABV and 30% sugar. A quite unique flavor that is also used in swedish desserts and pastry. Unfortunately it’s a bit hard to find outside of the nordic countries (could be problematic if you enter a cocktail competition based in Australia). I think there is arrak essence to buy online if you are curious. You can read more about punsch here:
