An acceptable way to drink scotch for breakfast, this drink is an easy drinker perfect as an alternative brunch cocktail and will go down well with even scotch skeptics. I tried to create a cocktail with the main components of any decent breakfast, coffee, orange, maple syrup and egg, spiked with scotch to give it a malty backbone, and touched with some Pedro Ximenez Sherry to give a hint of dark fruits and berries.
Add all ingredients to shaker
Dry shake hard for 15 seconds
Add ice and shake for a further 15 seconds
Fine strain into a good sized coupe glass
Express an orange peel over the top of the drink
