What do you do when your mother makes more marmalade than you have toast for? Use it in drinks. Taking inspiration from the classic revolver cocktail a smoking gun swaps the bourbon for Scotch and the orange bitters for orange marmalade. Any good quality marmalade will do but if you ask nicely I might be able to get Mum’s recipe! The Islay single malt is what gives this drink the smoke without burning (too much)

Ingredients

 2 oz Blended Scotch Whiskey
1 oz Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 1 tsp Orange Marmalade
1 tsp Smokey Single Malt Scotch (Laphroaig)
 1 Slice Orange Peel

Directions

1

Add the Blended Scotch, Mr Black and Marmalade to a shaker

2

Add ice to the shaker and shake

3

Strain into cocktail glass

4

Pour the Single malt over the back of a spoon into the drink to “float” it on the top.

5

Hold the orange peel near a lit match or lighter over the drink, give it a squeeze and the oils will ignite in a puff of sparks. Drop the peel in the glass

6

Enjoy!
