I wanted a creamy cocktail that wasn't like a latte so I went with cream of coconut. This inspired me to pair Mr Black with rum and after some comparisons I chose a cask strength pot still rum. Rather than include simple syrup I made a chai syrup with raw sugar to bring in some more complex flavours that would complement Mr Black. So the 4 C's are Coffee, Chai and Cream of Coconut.

1.50 oz Pot Still overproof rum
0.75 oz Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 1 oz Cream of Coconut
0.50 oz Chai sugar syrup (1 part chai to 1.5 parts sugar)
 0.75 oz Lemon juice

Combine ingredients in shaker with ice and shake HARD for at least 15 seconds

Pour over crushed ice

Garnish with a mint sprig

Make chai syrup by brewing a strong cup of chai (1 part) and adding raw sugar (1.5 parts) - e.g. 100ml chai to 150g sugar
