My riff on Mickey McIlroy’s The Right Hand. The funk of the Jamaican rum brings out the fruit notes of the coffee in Mr. Black. Swapping in Aperol in the recipe allowed a more subtle bitterness that allows rom for the Mr. Black to shine.



 1 oz Mr Black
 0.50 oz Smith and Cross Traditional Jamaica Rum
 0.75 oz Sweet Vermouth
 0.75 oz Aperol
 2 dashes Chocolate Bitters



Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass over ice and stir until well chilled.


Strain into a coupe glass


Garnish with a twist of orange peel
