Mr Black meets Mexico in this spicy spin-off of the classic Espresso Martini.
Rated OA takes its name from Mexico’s Oaxaca region whose bold, bright flavours are the bedrock of this delectable drink.
Oaxacan Mezcal, Oaxacan espresso and Oaxacan Pasilla Chili Bitters bring a fruity, smoky depth. Anejo tequila brings an edge. Agave syrup brings something smooth. And as for Mr Black……well Mr Black brings the dark magic that ties it all together.

20 ml Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
20 ml Mezcal (Pedro d San Juan - 12 years old from Oaxaca)
20 ml Anejo Tequila (Don Julio)
30 ml Espresso (Female Producers From Santa Lucia - Oaxaca)
 15 ml Agave Syrup
 5 ml Pasilla chile solution

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake hard, 10-15 seconds or until you feel the shaker chilling

Double strain into a pre-chilled coupe glass

Dust with pasilla chile powder to garnish

Enjoy with friends... Salut

NOTE: to make the pasilla chile solution, cut a dried pasilla chile into pieces and add with 300-ml Mezcal in an airtight bottle for 2-4 days. Taste test daily to check the spice level. Once you're happy with the spice, strain the chile and seeds off and refrigerate. Keeps for 2 weeks.
