I've been making my own cold brew for a couple years now and love the scent and flavor of blueberries paired with coffee. This cocktail plays with that combination a bit whimsically, with a smashed blueberry honey syrup, Mr. Blacks, a bite of ginger, and a Japanese whiskey base. A lemon peel expressed highlights fragrance.



 2 oz Japanese Whiskey(Hibiki Harmony)
 0.50 oz Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 0.50 oz Ginger Liqueur(Domaine de Canton)
 0.75 oz Smashed blueberry honey syrup
 1 Lemon peel
 1 oz Egg white
 1 pinch Blueberry bitters



Bring 1 cup honey and 1 cup water to a boil and lower to a simmer. Add 1/2 lb blueberries and cover over low heat until blueberries begin to swell. Smash blueberries and remove from heat. Store and cool.


Mix 2oz Hibiki Harmony, 1/2 oz Mr. Blacks, 1/2 oz Domaine Canton, 3/4 oz smashed blueberry honey syrup in a shaker and shake vigorously over ice.


Add one egg white to shaker, shake vigorously once more, strain and pour into a coupe glass.


Spray blueberry bitters over the surface, express one lemon peel and add as garnish.


Sit back, sip, smell, enjoy, smile. Whatever will be, will be.
