I’d been experimenting with Mr. Black for a little while to great success but I really wanted to make a true fall cocktail that had a great bit of spice and flavor. So with some pumpkin spice syrup in the fridge and a couple of tries and some recipe adjustments, I created the Pumpkin Wake Up, the perfect fall cocktail.

Ingredients

 1.50 oz Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 1.50 oz Bourbon Whiskey
 0.75 oz Pumpkin Spice Syrup
 2 oz Heavy Cream

Directions

Combine into a cocktail shaker the Mr. Black, bourbon, and pumpkin spice syrup (my favorite PS syrup has been Greg’s from How To Drink on YouTube but any will do).

Add ice and shake.

Strain with a Hawthorne strainer over one large ice cube into a double rocks glass.

Pour the 2oz of heavy cream into the now empty shaker. ( I also add the spring from the strainer as it helps with aeration but it’s not necessary). Shake until frothy.

Pour over the top of the drink.

Garnish with fresh nutmeg.
