A few friends and I did a chopped-like cocktail contest this year. It was the final round, and I needed to use Espresso with Either Tequila or Vodka. I was up for the challenge, thought back to some memories of creative meals of my past, and all I thought of was breakfast! For some reason, coffee, orange juice, and pancakes came to mind. I adapted this recipe to use Mr. Black, and I think it tastes even better now than when I was rushing against the clock.

Ingredients

 1 Egg white
 0.50 oz Fresh Orange juice
 0.50 oz Lemon Juice
 0.75 oz Simple Syrup
1 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
 1 oz Tequila Blanco
 Heavy Whipping Cream
 Orange Bitters
 Nutmeg

Directions

1

Firstly, add egg white, the orange juice, and the lemon juice in a shaker and dry-shake.

2

Add the simple syrup, tequila, and Mr. Black to the shaker, along with ice. Shake that all until cold.

3

Strain into your chilled coupe.

4

Separately, combine some heavy whipping cream with a couple of dashes of Orange Bitters

5

Layer the whipping cream on top of the drink. (I found the using the back of a bar spoon works well, like how you would combine grenadine in a Tequila sunrise).

6

Lastly, garnish with fresh nutmeg!
