This cocktail actually came about as a result of Negroni Week. I wanted to create something that was different than anything I'd ever seen or tasted before. That led me into a deep dive of the history of gin where I learned about Genever. The Genever combined with the dry sweetness of the Mr. Black, a wonderful substitute for sweet vermouth, and the Campari/Saler's combination (the gentian root in the Saler's works well with the Mr. Black), makes for a refreshingly different Negroni.

1 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
 1 oz Bols Genever
 ½ oz Campari
 ½ oz Saler's Aperitif
 2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters
1 Large swath of lemon peel

Combine Genever, Mr. Black, Campari, Saler’s, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice.

Stir 20-30 seconds and strain into a chilled glass over large ice cube.

Garnish with a large swath of lemon peel wrapped around ice cube.
