For this cocktail, I wanted to create a drink that was rich, coffee forward, and inspired by my love for Tiki. Coffee is at the forefront here, with Mr. Black and Espresso, complemented by two rich, dark rums. Campari brings strong orange flavor, rounded out by the candy-like sweetness of oleo-saccharum. The drink finishes with a pleasantly bitter coffee and chocolate flavor that lingers on the palate. The mouthfeel is velvety smooth, with a long lasting creamy head.



 1 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqurer
 1 oz Black Blended Rum (Gosling's Black Seal)
 0.50 oz Black Blended Overproof Rum (Plantation O.F.T.D.)
 0.75 oz Campari
 1 oz Orange Oleo-Saccharum
 1 oz Espresso
 1 dash Orange Bitters (Fee Brother's Orange)
 1 dash Chocolate Bitters (Fee Brother's Aztec Chocolate)
 1 dash Saline Solution (80/20)



Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice, and shake vigorously.


Strain over a large cube in a barrel glass or tiki mug.


Garnish and enjoy!

Orange Oleo-Saccharum

Combine 60g of orange peel with 240g sugar and toss to combine.


Let sit for 24 hours to extract the orange oils.


Add to a small saucepan along with 120ml of water and bring to a bare simmer to fully dissolve the sugar. Let cool, strain, and bottle.
