A nice little low-abv cocktail here, checking all the boxes. It’s different, it’s unique, it’s refreshing, and now the adults get to enjoy an Italian soda. The bittersweet orange notes of Meletti and coffee together are quite syncopated. I chose a grapefruit soda, and particularly the brand Q because I think they’re really great and artisanal for a soda company. Lastly a lovely, rich macadamia nut milk creamer, it’s a real treat on its own.

Ingredients

1 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
 0.50 oz Meletti Amaro
 Q Grapefruit Soda
 Milk alternative

Directions

1

First build the drink in a Collins glass then top with ice

2

Pour Q Grapefruit Soda down a barspoon but leave a little room at the top of the drink for the cream.

3

Aside in a shaker take the coil from a hawthorn strainer and place it in the tin, pour about 3/4 ounces and add two or three ice cubes.

4

Then shake vigorously for about 45 seconds, you’re making a lighter whip cream essentially.

5

Once done shaking, slowly pour the whipped milk atop the beverage until full.

6

Whipping the milk gives the drink a nicer & lighter texture, if done properly you’ll get a nice color separation as well.
-also, using a milk alternative is healthier and won’t upset the tummy after having one of these-
