I'm a big fan of the Manhattan. Was the first cocktail I learned how to make well. I've always wanted to do a riff on the classic either in the more Black Manhattan sense or traditional sense. Been working on it with one of my patrons who loves coffee and coffee liqueurs. After many trial and errors and many late nights the cocktail is born.



 1.50 oz Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 0.75 oz Bourbon Whiskey(Bakers 7 yr)
 0.50 oz Amaro Montenegro
 0.50 oz Dry Curacao
 0.25 oz Demerara Syrup
 2 dashes Herbisaint
 1 dash Angostura



Add all Ingredients to mixing glass.


Add ice. Stir for around 20 to 25 seconds (30 rotations)


Strain into a Nick & Nora. (We carry 5.5 oz glasses in the place I work.)


Garnish with a large orange zest.
