Freyr, Norse god of peace, pleasure and a bountiful harvest.
It’s him we thank for the festival of flavours in his namesake cocktail, where Aquavit meets Arabica in a delicious, clarified fusion of coffee, caraway, anise and orange.
Coloured like a ray of sunshine, Freyr’s Fancy strikes a delicate balance where the richness of Mr Black is forward but by no means dominant.
So fill your horn with Freyr’s Fancy and offer a toast to the harvest that made it.

Ingredients

 30 ml Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 30 ml Aquavit(Bareksten)
 45 ml Orange Juice

Directions

Batched in volume for the clarification process, use a 4:1 ratio with 4 parts cocktail mix, 1 part full cream milk. To make 6 serves, that's 630ml of your combined cocktail mix and 105ml of milk.

Combine your cocktail mix in a jug and pour slowly over the milk in a separate jug.

Stir the combined mix for 5 minutes while the curds form then let sit for 2.5 hours

To strain off the curd, pour the mix through a cheese cloth or coffee filter paper into a jug. It will take several hours, but once filtration is completed, let the final, clarified cocktail chill overnight in a refrigerator

Serve into a chilled Nick & Nora glass or fancy stemware and enjoy with friends
