This smooth and rich dirty chai cocktail is inspired by the flavors and feelings of autumn in Chicago! The chai syrup recipe is rich on fall spices like nutmeg and cardamom. Mix this with a smooth bourbon to bring more warmth and caramel flavor into the drink and add Mr. Black cold brew to bring in the bitter coffee kick this cocktail needs to make it a perfect dirty chai! Your favorite raw nut milk not only complements the tone of this drink, it is also traditional to chai tea. Cheers!

 1 oz Bourbon Whiskey
1 oz Mr Black Coffee Cold Brew
 1 oz Homemade Chai Syrup
 0.50 oz Non-dairy milk
 1 stick Cinnamon

Build your dirty chai in a rocks glass starting with ice; then add 1 oz of Bourbon Whisky (I used Wild Turkey); 1 oz of Mr. Black cold brew; and, 1 oz of your homemade chai tea syrup. Top of your glass with your favorite non-dairy nut milk (I used raw almond milk).

Stir and garnish drink with a cinnamon stick. Enjoy next to a crackling fireplace or on a brisk evening for all the fall feels!

Fall Spiced Chai Tea Syrup

1 cinnamon stick broken + a dash of ground cinnamon (sub 1 TBS cinnamon)
1/2 TBS of whole cloves
5 star anise
1.5 tsp cardamom (whole seed)
1.5 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ginger
1/4 cup of loose leaf black tea
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 TBS honey

Combine spices & water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer while covered for 30 mins.
Add tea (I used black gold by spirit teas) for 10 minutes off heat. Strain then pour back into pot. Add sugars and honey and let simmer, stirring continually, until you achieve syrup consistency. Refrigerate until cool.
