Inspired by common Mexican spices and flavors, I wanted to create a cocktail unlike any other. To complement Mr. Black, I used mezcal, chile liqueur, and mole bitters to bring smoke, heat, and sweet. To cut through the bitter and balance the drink, I added lime juice and cinnamon syrup which rounded out the body of the drink. Finally, a pinch of salt brings out the full explosion of flavor.

 30 ml Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 22.50 ml Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur
 15 ml Mezcal(Del Maguey Vida))
 22.50 ml Fresh Lime Juice
 15 ml Cinnamon Syrup (1:1)
 2 dashes Xocolatl Mole Bitters(Bittermens)
 1 pinch Salt



Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker


Add cracked or cubed ice to the shaker


Shake for 10-12 seconds, or until the shaker is frosty


Strain into a chilled coupe glass


Garnish with a fresh or dehydrated lime wheel
