The Vieux Carré meets coffee cocktails. This cocktail was inspired by a classic from the Carousel Bar where Ernest Hemingway was a regular. With that in mind I wanted to keep the sugar content outside of the spirits at a minimal so the sweet element comes from the microplaned dark chocolate that hits your nose as you go in for each sip. The addition of the instant coffee is as a foaming agent to create a head and to add texture to the drink that would be lacking otherwise.

Ingredients
Directions
Add first 6 ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice
Hard shake
Double strain into Martini Glass
Microplane dark chocolate over 3/4 of the top
