I’m not sure about where you live, but in the Chicagoland area, Lavender Lattés have been the RAGE for some time.

My cousins were on some family visits this spring, and brought me some great regional spirits. They thought this Lavender Vodka, from Springfield Manor Distillery in Fredricksburg, MD would throw me for a loop, but I immediately went to that local crush, the Lavender Lattë.

I know you think lavender smells like old ladies— and it does— but it’s also wonderfully herbaceous.

1.50 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
1 oz Lavender Vodka (Springfield Manor)
 0.50 oz Lemon juice
2 dashes Virtue Bitters (Strongwater Bitters)
0.75 oz Lavender simple syrup (1:1)
2 tbsp Foamed half and half
 1 pinch Food grade lavender

In a shaker tin, mix liquor, lemon juice, simple syrup, bitters, and ice.

Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.

Serve up in a coupe or Nick and Nora.

Gently spoon about 2 Tbsp of frothed milk on the top, and garnish with some food-grade lavender buds.

Lavender Simple Syrup

Prepare before to commence making your drink
1:1 simple syrup with food grade lavender, steam about 1/2 C half and half, froth with a milk frother, set aside.
