While in Turkey I learned the local saying "Bundan iyisi Sam'da kayisi". Translated literally, "The only thing better than this is an apricot in Damascus". So in honour of the fruit, along with bold, bittersweet Turkish coffee, I created this cocktail. Mr Black & aged Cuban rum provide the base, with the coffee playing beautifully with the aromatic apricot liqueur. Sweet floral notes are complimented by viscous honey, while fresh grapefruit accents the slight bitterness of the coffee. Enjoy!



 35 ml Mr Black Coffee Liqueur
 25 ml Aged Cuban Rum (Havana Club 7 Yr)
 20 ml Apricot Liqueur (Giffard Abricot Du Roussillon)
 15 ml Red Grapefruit
 10 ml Honey
 10 ml Fresh Lemon
 4 dashes Chocolate Bitters (Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters)



Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice cubes and shake thoroughly (don't forget to smile at the camera).


Strain into a well chilled coupe. Garnish with a lemon wheel, if you like.
